Can anyone give me the right directions to get here? I’ll be in Taipei for only one day because it’s a stop-over. I need to go to 1 pottery company. It’s address is NO. 456, IF, JONG JENG 1 RD. YINK CO CHEN, TAIPEI, HSIEN, TAIWAN.
I want to immediatley go there after arriving the airport so that I can go back in time for my departure flight at night. If possible, I’d prefer using the MRT system/Metro system in Taipei to avoid traffic, and to avoid misunderstandings with taxi drivers. What directions and modes of transport should I use? Thanks in advance!
you can call a cab. they known the way.

There’s no MRT at Taoyuan airport if you’re flying from overseas. Why not get the pottery company to make arrangements for someone to pick you up at the airport. That’s the most efficient and easiest way to get to your destination. Another way is to get the address printed in Chinese – the company you’re going to should be able to do that for you. Show that to the taxi driver and he’ll get you there without hassles. From my experience, most taxi drivers in Taipei are professional.
Forget about using public transport unless you have a good understanding of Chinese and can speak it very well.

Hi, there’s no way you can get to Ying Ko by MRT, as the town you’re looking for is very far from Taipei City, and is in fact located on the outskirts of Taipei County. Yin Ko is near the place where I live, and I live in the neighboring county from Taipei!! But fear not, the international airport is also located at Taoyuan County, and getting to Ying Ko will only take you about half an hour’s ride by taxi.
So my best advice would be, upon arriving at the airport, go to your place of destination by taking the taxi. You may have to spend around $ 400 NT (in one direction) for the half-hour ride. Here is the Chinese for that address. Copy, paste, print, BRING ALONG, and then show it to the taxi driver:
台北縣鶯歌鎮中正一路 456 號 1 樓
The reason why I didn’t suggest the bus route is because you’re in rush to get there, and the bus route can be a bit complicated: you need to transfer to another bus in order to get there, plus you will do a lot of walking. There is always this chance of getting lost when you take the bus route, and you don’t want that happening. Otherwise, the bus route is cheaper. If you have problems pasting the bunch of Chinese words above, contact me by email and I’ll give you the .jpg file of those words. And, if you really insist on taking the bus, drop me an email and I’ll give you the directions.

Additional: Make sure you’re landing at the Taoyuan Int’l Airport, and not Kaoshiung Int’l Airport. If you’re landing in Kaoshiung, then forget the whole business.

HI,
Take the Airport bus into Town up to the Taipei main Station, From there , you can take the train to Yingge (Ying Ko) Cost NTD32 one way. Yingge is a small place, easy to find your address since all the Pottery companies are in the main area.

Suggest that you ask the receptionists at some hotel or your Taiwanese contact to write the directions and instructions in their local language.

Ajeet, as usual has the best solution for you. The bus ride from airport to Taipei runs around 130NT and laasts around 45 minutes. You may have a bit of trouble with the train tickets, but there are always helpful people around.
