I heard that asian cultures don’t like overly excited or bubbly people.
Usually people like me because of my being positive and excited about everything, and laughing at everything (ridiculous sense of humor hahaha)
So how can I get people to gravitate towards me?
You are correct to be concerned about the level of your "energy". The Taiwanese tend to be somewhat laid-back in their style. On occasion, their voices may appear louder than you are used to, but I still wouldn’t call them "boisterous". Thus, I’d recommend you tone things down just a little while in public places, yet remain enthusiastic, warm, and willing to smile often.
Students from Taiwan spend two weeks in Evergreen schools attending classes and sharing their culture with students from Illahee, Columbia Valley, and Shahala.
Just what I say above…..what do you think about Taiwan?
You can talk about anything, including culture, weather, cuisine, attraction, festival, and etc.
What does Taiwan mean to you? or what does the image of Taiwan look like in your mind?
Is there anything that Taiwan needs to improve?
Just tell me what you think!!
There are no right and wrong answers,of course and thank you for your answers.
BSherman says China awaits with open arms.
Don’t let a Chinese propaganda fool you. China has 1500+ missiles aimed at Taiwan.
This video gives a pretty good first impression of Taiwan for a stranger to the island.
Taiwan has much to improve. First is to declare itself to the international community that it is a separate entity a separate state from China. Make it clear that China and Taiwan are not one and the same. The government name Republic of China is already confusing enough for many who aren’t aware of the history and conflict in this region.
I mean a majority of these people (Chinese) never even been to china, they don’t practice or do what China people does.
Their culture is similar but different – it’s complicated
Heck even Taiwanese don’t call themselves Chinese even though they are next to China – they hate China
Are these people have no identity? maybe they should look for one…
I’m no Chinese and I hate typical China people,I mean from China because they are disgusting, racist,no moral people.
I even wonder why are people saying they are the next super powers, they have awful citizens – I’m referring to the majority that is
Taiwan is a homogenous country. It makes no sense to call themselves Chinese when nearly everyone else is a Chinese. For Malaysia and Singapore, one call himself a Chinese to distinguish himself from Indians, Malays who form a significant part of the ethnic community. They would call themselves Singaporeans or Malaysians if you ask what nationality they are from. The West describe themselves from the color of their skin which is divisive and even demeaning.
Why, the western culture always led people to fight? and fight for something doesn’t matter, like relious and political. But the eastern culture always protect their home, especially Chinese. But Japan is the 天殺的例外. Fuck. But, japan is really do something great in Taiwan, like finance and people’s level in culture. 沒有人跟事是絕對的.
Chinese culture is different, it is not appropriate to tag it "good" or "bad". In China you would never make a person loose face by yelling at them in public for being wrong. In China you don’t wait in line you just squeeze your way through (and it is not considered rude, just a way to move large crowds). Chinese eat things other cultures may not find appetizing (but then if you were one of a billion people you eat what you can find to stay alive). Chinese parents value their daughters now days as they do their sons because they see she can support them in their old age. They are not allowed to abort their babies on account of sex and ultrasounds can not be used for this purpose. Chinese people are good works (not lazy) but do have trouble being managers as such traits are not encouraged unless groomed to be in the government (and if you go into the government, you would not be in manufacturing) thereby there are many unqualified people managing the labor force and that is why quality is "not so good".
We all need to get along. Learn to live together on this earth, it has become too small not to do so. Differences are fine, as long as they are not evil and harm others. We should be human first, animals second, that is why we were given brains… to use. Peace to all.
They say they’re Taiwanese, when they speak the chinese language.
They want to form their own independent country, but don’t have the power to.
They are more chinese than the People’s Republic because traditional culture is thriving there. Buddhism. Taoism, and teaching of Confucius are all active in Taiwan. They have been suppressed for decades in Communist China.
So why can’t they accept the fact they’re chinese??
They still belong to China??
Please no mean answers(^_^)
Probably, because they want to separate themselves from Chinese rule and oppression.Taiwan may not be a independent nation, but I’d consider the region autonomous by all means.

I am about to get a project in Taiwan. Can someone tell me what it’s like there?
-What’s the temperature like?
-Is it a conservative culture?
-What are the fun things to do?
-Is it expensive?
-Is it very westernized?
1.) Taiwan is very hot and humid so you always get very sweaty when you are out for just a couple of minutes. A good air conditioner is very important in taiwan.
2.) It depends where you are, it is more conservative in the rural areas where it is more traditional, but in big cities like Taipei, it’s just like america.
3.) Tons, Taiwan might have a lot of smog, but they are really big in nature. Nature hikes around yaming Mountain and other mountains and stuff are very common. There are also, common stuff like amuesment parks, bowling stuff you would do in america. (When you bowl they don’t have bumpers, so for me it’s preety hard). The zoo is also very cool, it is REALLY big and great. Also, walking around Taipei 101 is a must, thou it is very expensive if you buy anything.
4.) No, 100 NT$ only equal to around $3 in America. You can usually buy a complete meal (soup, main entree, red tea) for less then 100NT$! Once they even had a restaurant that sold pork chops, rice, soup and red tea for only 20 NT$. Though if you want very high end buffetts or restaurants they are usually around 1000NT$, but they have everything u want. The best types of meals to me are jian chan, a four course meal for around 800NT$. Also, the best food can be found in little street stalls (cheap and delicious!) Shopping is also very cheap if you buy it on the streets and shopping malls like sogo are so so expensive (depends how you compare)
5.) Depends where you are talking about like I said for number 2, rural areas are more traditional, big cities like Taipei have lots of big shopping malls, more "westernized"
