I just got back from playing in today’s Friday Night Magic. As usual, I piloted my Valakut Ramp Deck. I feel great before the tournament started and was even expecting to have a good result after. However, the first round didn’t go as planned. I lost both games against a fellow Valakut deck. Game one was close and I thought I was winning. My life was down to 13 while my opponent was down to 8, one more turn and I could have but a Primeval Titan from his hand was enough to deal me more than 13 damage. Round was also close. It took me three games to beat a Black/Green infect deck. I thought its going to be a tie because we reached the time limit for the round. However, a timely Inferno Titan saved the day and won the game for me.

In round three I was paired against a Quest for the Holy Relic deck. It was my first time playing against this deck. I mulled down to five cards in game one, and it was an automatic loss. In game two I made a big mistake when I used Naturalize to destroy the Holy Relic instead of using it in his Equipment Card and that cost me the game. The final round was also close. My opponent plays a mono Red Deck. He won game one with two Goblin Guides and burn spells. I won game two with Wurmcoil Engine hitting the field early. Then outrace him in the last game with Inferno Titan finishing the game for me.
