I am looking for a nice, hotel room for around 60 USD in Taipei, Taiwan that comes with buffet breakfast.?

I am currently staying at Bailee Hotel and have been here for 5 nights now. I really like this hotel, although the buffet breakfast is not that fantastic (still, food is edible if one is not too fussy. it just lacks variety).

The hotel is 5-min walk from Minquan W. MRT station and has lots of shops nearby, including a 24-hr convenience store. The location of this hotel is good.

What’s more attractive, to me at least, is the free in-room internet.

Most online hotel reservation websites should give you a price of around USD60.

should we cancel our trip to taiwan bc of morakot typhoon?

Posted by admin on May 3rd, 2010 and filed under hotel taiwan | 5 Comments »

my sister and i were planning to spend a week in taipei from the 16th to the 25th and already made hotel reservations and plane tickets. after morakot stuck mainly in northern taiwan, should we cancel our trip? what is taiwan’s condition usually like about a week after a pretty bad typhoon? are there more sickness going around? things more expensive? places closed? etc.

Everything is open in Taipei, We are back to work today. The Typhoon is gone. The Northern area is not affected badly so there is no need to cancel.
The Typhoon hit the North but rained in the Central and South. Locally only Veg prices gone up, other prices all stable.

Our local city govt acts very fast and cleanup is done almost immediately after the Typhoon leaves.I really have to congratulate them on a great job every time.It looks like nothing happened earlier.

Does anyone know of any hotels in Taipei, Taiwan that have kitchens or kitchenettes in the room?

Posted by admin on May 1st, 2010 and filed under hotel taiwan | 3 Comments »

We will be traveling with our 2 year old daughter and it’s preferable not to have to eat out 3 meals a day for a week so we’re hoping to find a place to stay that has a kitchen in the room (even if it’s small). Apartments seem harder to find because some people don’t want to rent to people with children.

Meal preparation in a hotel room is only popular in North America because of the fact that the cost of restaurant meals adds up like crazy. This is not so in Taiwan. Restaurant meals are very good and very inexpensive–provided you stick to Chinese stuff. The food is suitable for a child–and you won’t be disappointed either.

I lived in Taipei for two years, and stayed in Taipei hotels frequently during the two additional years that we lived in Hualien. I never saw or heard of a hotel with a kitchen.

Which of these would be a good hotel which is near the MRT Station, shopping and food in Taiwan?

Which of these would be a good hotel which is near the MRT Station, shopping and food in Taiwan?
1. Sunworld Dynasty Hotel Taipei
2. Royal Biz Taipei
3. Starbeauty Resort
4. ECLAT
5. Fullon Hotel Linkou, Taipei
6. Landis Hotel Tainan
7. Fullon Taoyuan
8. Holiday Inn East Taipei
9. Riviera
10. Four Points by Sheraton Chung Ho, Taipei

Thank you =)

Hotel ECLAT is a good choice. Its in the city, on the corner of Dun Hua south rd and Xin Yi road. The MRT Da An station is to the west of it on Xin Yi rd. Other options for you are Royal Biz and Sunworld, but hotel ECLAT has better reviews.

I need some information about Taiwan travel (south Taiwan)? Please give some suggestion~?

Posted by admin on April 27th, 2010 and filed under hotel taiwan | 2 Comments »

We have a travel planning to Taiwan, most travel information we found are about Taipei, but we are interested with the new metro system in Kaohsiung, so trying to get some advise of transportation and hotel of south Taiwan. We will start our Taiwan trip from Taipei, then down to the south by train or their high speed rail, many thanks!

I know their tourism bureau offers tourism bus with several routes, including south Taiwan, they have web site and the itinerary covers trip to Kenting, maybe you can put into your planning, Kenting is popular for lots of water activities and great sea views.

Posted by admin on April 25th, 2010 and filed under hotel taiwan | 2 Comments »

be there on 17 .the place is quite new to me. possible bus train to get there? ty

there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely give you the best prices available. check out the website BookMe and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it’s very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online… otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.
